White Orchids (Click on the thumbnail for a larger image) Orchids are some of the most intriguing flowers that exist. Though seemingly fragile, the orchid is quite sturdy and can be easy to grow (I have yet to learn that part of the lesson). Orchids bring back memories of corsages at high school proms and special events. Once hooked, it is hard to escape their charms. Red Orchid (Click on the thumbnail for a larger image) This is another painting from the series of Orchids done on Yupo plastic film. Yupo has a very bright white finish and the colors maintain a real brilliance to them. This enhances the reds and pinks in the flower. The Yupo surface is slick and causes the paint to react in unusual patterns, making the process of painting the picture and its final outcome truly unpredictable. Two Tone Orchid (Click on the thumbnail for a larger image) Some orchids are quiet and demure and others are in your face with vibrant color. Two Tone Orchid shows the later. The flower's color screams for your attention and gets it!
Yellow Days (Click on the thumbnail for a larger image) If there is gold at the end of the rainbow, then every rainbow ends at an orchid! These magnificent blossoms are truly a treasure in a pot!
